The 100 Black Men of Chicago’s mission is to mentor the 100 way, that is, to improve the lives of community youths through mentoring programs and college scholarships.
The 100 Black Men of Chicago Inc., hosted its stellar 14th annual Gala and Awards Benefit, “Celebrating Four for the Future,” recently.
The organization’s four tenets for future success are mentoring, education, health and wellness and economic empowerment.
ABC’s Charles Thomas hosted the event (and youth participants did a fine job hosting the awards ceremony).
Honorees included Mike Lewis, executive vice president at Harris N.A.; Lawrence Oliver II, The Boeing Company’s chief counsel of investigations; Ron Lofton, owner of five McDonald’s restaurants; Rev. Richard L. Tolliver of St. Edmund’s Episcopal Church; and Tim King, president and CEO of Urban Prep Academies.
The 100 Black Men of Chicago’s sold-out event took place in the swanky grand ballroom of the Hyatt Regency.
