Mos Def Lands Recurring Guest Role on ‘Dexter’

Rapper-actor Mos Def has made a name for himself as an acclaimed actor on the silver screen as well as on television screens, over the years. And now the nuanced actor is bringing his talents to Showtime, landing a recurring guest role on the upcoming season of the hit crime thriller “Dexter.”

According to hollywoodreporter.com, Mos Def will play a hardened ex-con who, despite his troubled past, claims to have now found peace in religion. However, despite his new outlook on life, the ex-con continually finds himself surrounded by violence. Throughout the multi-episode story arc, main character Dexter (Michael C. Hall) will uncover the truth of who the ex-con really is.


It’s still unclear as to how many episodes Mos Def will appear in. Production on the upcoming sixth season will begin in June with a premiere slated for fall.

Mos Def previously made his mark in the world of television as a guest actor on shows such as “The Boondocks,” “My Wife and Kids” and “House.”
