These days, it’s pretty typical for a rapper to get involved in Twitter beefs but rarely do they get into digital squabbles with people outside of the music industry. But on May 23 rapper Wale got into a surprising and heated Twitter feud with the self-proclaimed former mistress of Osama Bin Laden, Kola Boof.
The drama began when the poet-writer began attacking Wale for his video “Pretty Girls,” falsely criticizing the Nigerian rapper for failing to use black models in the video and saying that he was a disgrace to Africans.
“@ericjunior There wasn’t a single Black woman in “Pretty Girls”…so what in the f— was he saying about African women?? His own race?”
@ericjunior @wale <<-WALE has all the f—–g power in the world as to WHO appears in his music videos. So shut that **LIE** down.”
“–> @WALE is a little Punk B—h Nigerian Skin Bleacher who wants to escape his own people & gets PAID 2 do so. @ericjunior”
Boof continued her rather long attack, claiming that Wale was perpetuating the practice of skin bleaching as well calling him a chimp.
After seeing the numerous Twitter attacks, Wale fired back at Boof. And although the rapper refused to mention her relationship with Bin Laden, Wale sternly criticized Boof’s credibility and called her a hypocrite.
“Kola boof … I won’t beef with you as a rapper, but as a proud black man with intellect. We can show the world what ignorance looks like,” tweeted Wale. “According to this lunatic @kolaboof I promote “skin bleaching” and I hate black women…@kolaboof your pretentious. Your [sic] a disgusting human being, an absolute disgrace to the very people you pretend to endorse.”
And although Boof continued slamming Wale, the rapper refused to further comment on the issue, leaving Boof to write hostile tweets for her growing list of followers.
