Eminem made more than a few heads turn a few weeks ago when he seemingly dissed Lady Gaga in Bad Meets Evil’s latest song, “A Kiss,” questioning the pop singer’s current gender status. Now, after making fun of Gaga, Eminem is addressing the lyrical jab, saying that it was simply a joke.
In the song with fellow Bad Meets Evil member, Royce Da 5’9, Eminem calls the “Judas” singer a man, rapping, “Tell Lady Gaga she can quit her job at the post office / She’s still a male lady.”
After leaving many fans wondering whether he really had beef with Gaga, the Detroit emcee recently spoke with FUSE TV and cleared up any confusion about his playful jab at Gaga, explaining that fans shouldn’t take his words seriously.
“I think Lady Gaga, as an artist you know, she’s undeniable, you know,” said Eminem. “That was one of them things where sometimes I get a joke in my head and I kinda want to share it with the world, you know what I’m saying. So it was just one of them things man, and it’s, you know, it’s all in fun, it’s hip-hop.”
We’re sure there are no hard feelings on Gaga’s part. Bad Meets Evil’s new album Hell: The Sequel hits stores nationwide today, June 14. –nicholas robinson
