The top songwriters and producers of 2010 were honored at the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Awards. Held at the Beverly Hills Hilton on Friday, June 24, 2011, artists who walked the red carpet included Ne-Yo, LeToya Luckett, DJ Drama and Too Short.
During the ceremony, Diddy was honored with ASCAP’s Founders Award. The award is given to songwriters and composers who have inspired their fellow peers in music.
Others who have received the Founders Award include Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Berry Gordy and Dr. Dre.
Gospel duo Mary Mary was honored with the Golden Note Award, given to songwriters, composers and artists who have achieved “extraordinary career milestones.” Past recipients include Quincy Jones, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys.
