Just when it seemed that things had settled down in the months-long custody battle between Halle Berry and her ex-boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry, the battle heats up, once again. According to reports, Berry appeared in family court on Tuesday, June 28, and accused Aubry of violating their April custody agreement.
According to TMZ, Berry’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, submitted a lengthy court document accusing Aubry of neglecting their 3-year-old daughter, Nahla, claiming that the male supermodel failed to follow requirements when Nahla was in his care.
The court document provides great detail about Aubry’s allegedly less-than-stellar parenting skills, even citing an overseas incident when Aubry allegedly neglected Nahla, leaving the young girl’s life in jeopardy.
Berry asked that the judge find Aubry, who was not in court that day, in violation of the custody agreement. The judge subsequently scheduled a hearing on the matter for a later date.
Berry and Aubry, who broke up in April 2010, first began their custody battle back in January when the Oscar-winning actress first voiced her suspicions about Aubry’s parenting skills.
“Halle has serious concerns for her daughter’s well-being while in the care of her father for any extended period of time and is prepared to take all necessary steps to protect her,” said Berry’s rep to Us Weekly.
Hopefully, for the sake of Nahla, this custody battle will end swiftly, with the child ending up in the safest home. –nicholas robinson
