FAIRBURN, Ga. – Public relations maven Jonell Whitt only had to mention her birthday party and location, then just lean back and watch as a hungry herd of party fans and freaks stampeded over to super-producer Roger Bobb’s house in this posh Atlanta suburb.
You see, people who are familiar with this spark plug of a celebrity publicist already know that a Whitt party is the place where bad moods and depression go to die a quick death. Sour attitudes cannot survive amid the positive vibes pulsating through this grand home like a hot electric current.
Even on her birthday, Whitt took great care to rev up the engine to this soiree consisting of scrumptious cuisine; Grey Goose vodka, sponsor of the pool party; Glaceau Vitamin Water; a grandiose swimming pool and waterfall; a tennis court; and spectacular decor that decorated the inside of this estate jewel cuddled comfortably within the thick woods of rural Georgia.
They also know that Whitt usually cranks up the noise to real respectable levels at a normal industry gathering. But this was her birthday, and her efforts were augmented by her celeb pals who were sprinkled liberally among the party faithful, including movie mogul Roger Bobb, music maestro Jazze Pha, radio personality Ramona DeBreaux, Lisa Wu Hartwell, Cynthia Bailey, Jamie Foster Brown of Sister2Sister magazine, Young Joc, Shanti Das, Mark Hayes of “Good Day Atlanta” and recording artist Diamond, among many others. With DJ JayCee delivering the sonic boom on the turntables, the guests at this exclusive party were also treated to a fashion show and the premiere of Fashions by ATC Designs.
From now on, Whitt’s party announcements should come like a weather advisory: If you are not in the proper mind-set to go hard in the paint, then the stampede will run you right over. –terry shropshire
