The second Quad County African American Chamber of Commerce‘s “Women in Business Tea” brought together some of Chicagoland’s most influential and exquisitely dressed ladies. I was thrilled to see that so many young daughters and nieces also had been brought along to be a part of this auspicious occasion. The ladies of the Quad County Chamber were the perfect role models for all of our young ladies to see, learn from and aspire to be like.
Tea was served. Lunch was enjoyed. Relationships and friendships strengthened. The event keynote speaker, Maggie Anderson, shared her family’s story of buying black for an entire year and how their foundation, The Empowerment Experiment, is improving our community by supporting those businesses that best support us. She shared tips on how each of us can make a difference, one purchasing decision at a time.
