It looks like the house party really is over for former rapper Christopher “Kid” Reid of Kid ‘N Play fame. Reid was arrested Aug. 9 in Los Angeles for failing to appear in court for a DUI case.
News of Reid’s arrest broke yesterday via TMZ, who reported that LAPD officers went to the House Party star’s home to arrest him because of an active warrant for his arrest.
At the time of the report, the cause for the warrant was unknown, but later in the day it was discovered that Reid was arrested for failing to show up in court for DUI charges stemming from a 2010 arrest.
According to court records obtained by the gossip site, Reid was arrested for drunk driving on July 8, 2010, with a blood alcohol content of .15, almost twice the legal BAC limit in California.
Reid pled no contest to the charge and was sentenced to three years’ probation, ordered to take an alcohol education program, attend 10 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and pay more than $1,400 in fines and penalties.
However, the judge issued a warrant for Reid’s arrest after he failed to show up in court twice to prove that he’d completed his probation requirements.
Reid, who officers say was “extremely cooperative” during the arrest, is currently being held in an L.A. jail on $26,000 bond.
We highly doubt that Reid will be enjoying any kind of parties in his current home, and hopefully, he’s learned that DUI charges are far from child’s play. –nicholas robinson
