Queen Latifah Denies 'Dancing With the Stars' Rumors

Queen Latifah has gone by many monikers in her storied career, but recent reports claimed that the rapper-turned-actress-turned-producer would add “dancer” to that list as the latest star added to the cast of the upcoming season of “Dancing With the Stars.” However, Latifah is now denying those rumors, saying she was never tapped to compete on the show.

According to TMZ, sources for the hit ABC show revealed that Latifah had signed for the 13th season alongside future competitors Snooki, from MTV’s hit reality show “Jersey Shore,” Tiffani Thiesson of “Saved by the Bell” fame, Kristin Cavallari, from MTV’s reality show “The Hills” and Rob Kardashian, reality star and younger brother to the famous Kardashian sisters.

However, according to US Weekly, a rep for the rapper-actor said, “Queen Latifah will not appear on ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ ” adding that Latifah and ABC were “there were never any talks” for her to appear on the show.

Latifah’s signing would have been a major coup for “Dancing With the Stars” after producers announced earlier this year that they wanted more A-list celebrities to appear on the show.

Former contestants have included Master P, Vivica Fox, Romeo and Mya. The full cast announcement will be made on Aug. 29, according to “Access Hollywood.”

Fans will have to wait and see who actually makes it on to “Dancing With the Stars” on the season premiere, Sept. 19. It’s too bad we won’t get to see Latifah shake a tail feather. –nicholas robinson
