Uncle Who? White House Will Not Intervene in Onyango Obama’s Drunk Driving, Deportation Case

Uncle Who? White House Will Not Intervene in Onyango Obama's Drunk Driving, Deportation CaseOmar Onyango Obama, the half brother of President Obama’s Father was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol last week in Massachusetts and held on an immigration detainer. Onyango reportedly asked police if he could call The White House.

A federal official told The Associated Press Onyango was ordered by an immigration judge to leave the country almost two decades ago.

It appears the President’s half-uncle was able to evade authorities for nearly 20 years, until police intercepted him driving his white Mitsubishi SUV erratically outside the Chicken Bone Saloon in Framingham, Mass. His blood alcohol level was 0.14 – almost twice the legal limit.

In an attempt to fight deportation, Onyango Obama, 67, has hired the same law firm that helped his younger sister Zeituni Onyango win asylum in Boston last year.

Press Secretary Jay Carney said Thursday that the President did not know about the case until being informed about it by staff. White House officials have indicated that the arrest of the President’s uncle will be handled like any other illegal immigration case.

I’m thinking the President of the United State’s elderly uncle whose been here for 20 years and hasn’t been in trouble with the law before now is not being deported, but stranger things have happened in an election year.

On a side note, why get publicly sauced at The Chicken Bone when The Tavern Framingham is right around the corner? I’m just sayin’…
