Nicki Minaj never fails to draw attention when making public appearances. At this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York, the head Barb has been spotted all over New York for Fashion’s Night Out and in the front row at numerous fashion shows like Betsey Johnson, Carolina Herrera, Prabal Gurung and Oscar de La Renta.
With her colorful over-the-top wigs, cartoon-esque accessories, and matching animated personality, Minaj has managed to gain more attention than some of the new collections being showcased down the runway. She’s been photoed in everything from a pretzel necklace, to a furry tiger hat, to an “original” puffball dress accused of being a knockoff by the designer.
Devoured by paparazzi, fans, and the head honcho herself, Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour, we can’t help but wonder if fashion was the only topic up for discussion between the two on the front row. Seated next to Wintour in a couple of shows, we wouldn’t be surprised if there was a deal in the making to include the Harajuki Barbie on a future Vogue cover.
