Lori George Billingsley is one of those people who can say something and the next thing you know, it will come to fruition. When her husband, Pastor Jeffery Billingsley, told her he was interested in moving his church to Atlanta, she told him, “If we move to Atlanta, I am going to work for Coca-Cola.”
The Billingsleys packed up and moved south from Teaneck, N.J. “It is really great to be able to have a job where you can make a meaningful life and give back to communities … ” vaunts the nine-year-veteran.
Billingsley is the vice president of community relations for Coca-Cola Refreshments and will tell you that she has the “best job on the planet. I represent the company in the community space and provide funding through Coca-Cola for programs in the community around environment, education, active healthy lifestyle, diversity and inclusion.
“I have responsibility for community engagement and giving for Coca-Cola in North America. I work with some of the smartest people on the planet … a great boss and a great team work,” she explains. Billingsley is rearing her niece and nephew, Alegra and Bryant, respectively. She credits her family for being so supportive of one another, and especially her mother, Marion George, who moved to Atlanta in 2005.
“She is the pillar and what keeps me going and making everything that I need to do happen,” she comments.
“My faith plays a significant role in helping me stay on point. I put God first and have that quiet time with God and getting focused,” shares the first lady of Worship Center International Church regarding how she stays grounded. –yvette caslin
