Gayle King to Host CBS 'Early Show': Meet 4 Successful Black Women Who Once Worked for Oprah

Robin Beaman’s stellar work and steady accomplishments led her to Harpo Productions, Inc. in 1992, where she became a publicist-manager of public relations.

She developed and implemented national and international public relations strategies for the No. 1 rated talk show, “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” for five seasons.

Beaman now heads her own 12-year-old public relations agency, Beaman Inc.


Beaman Inc.’s clients include, Bally Total Fitness, British Petroleum, Coca-Cola, Illinois Bureau of Tourism, National Black MBA Association, The Nielsen Company and Shorebank.

Beaman also serves on several boards, including the Diversity Advisory Board at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago; the Youth Advisory Board at the Apostolic Church of God; the advisory board of nonprofit organization DeLaro Inc.; and the National Executive Diversity Board for the Public Relations Society of America.


Beaman earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Howard University and her Master of Science degree from the Kogod School of Business at American University.
