Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., Upsilon Sigma Chapter, presented its 48th Annual Carnation Ball & Scholarship Dinner recently at Chicago’s Holiday Inn Mart Plaza.
The black-tie affair included the presentation of scholarships to deserving students and the “Salute to Women of African Descent” Crescent Moon Award.
Rolling out‘s deputy editor, Zondra Hughes, was honored alongside notables Dr. Karen Saffold, Ms. Jackie Taylor-Holsten, the Honorable Diane Shelley, Clerk of Circuit Court of Cook County Dorothy Brown, Dr. Julie Taylor, award-winning journalist Allison Payne, the Honorable Leslie Hairston, Davina Ward, Stephanie R. Gaines, Minister Gloria J. Randolph, Juan Kirkman, Sharon E. Strickland, and Dr. Gisele M. Casanova.
This marks the 84th consecutive year of service for the men of Phi Beta Sigma Inc.
