M.I.A. – N.E.E.T. Recordings
In 2008, Sri Lankan emcee-singer M.I.A. founded N.E.E.T. (Not in Education, Employment or Training) Recordings through Interscope Records in an effort to expose new, underground music. Since the label’s launch, M.I.A. has signed Baltimore artists Rye Rye and Blaqstarr, indie rock band Sleigh Bells and visual artist Jamie Martinez. The label’s first official release was the official Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack.
