Madonna – Maverick Records
After conquering the world of pop music in the ’80s and early ’90s, pop icon Madonna decided to launch her own record label, Maverick, in 1992. Maverick’s roster would include notable acts like Alanis Morissette, Michelle Branch and Me’shell Ndegeocello. However, Madonna parted ways with Maverick between 2003 and 2004 after shares of her ownership were purchased during a legal battle between Maverick and its parent company, Warner Music Group.
