Disco-era singer Loleata Holloway’s death at the age of 64 provided a glimpse at success and longevity in the music business. Her versatility at bridging gospel, disco, and R&B ballads is a model for survival. She even achieved cross-over success when she had her first US #1 hit on the Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch single “Good Vibrations” (1991). Her 1980 hit single “Love Sensation” has been resampled over the years by several high-profile bands.
