Warren Brown, the Washington Post
Warren Brown is affectionately and reverently referred to as the “dean” of African-American automotive journalists, for his 30-year career at the Washington Post covering automobiles. Brown wisely adhered to the admonishment by an older colleague to branch out into covering cars as a way to make himself more marketable and ensure longevity at the esteemed paper. Subsequently, Brown fell in love with the industry and has since become lauded for his ability to decipher and translate the happenings within the industry in a way that is digestible to car aficionados and consumers.
