According to TMZ, sources close to the production team say that producers are putting together “an extremely lucrative pitch for Vanessa,” for her to join the cast of “Basketball Wives: LA.”
Why have the producers chosen now to try and sign Vanessa? Well, sources claim that the producers knew Vanessa would never sign while she was married to Bryant and that they couldn’t have afforded her expensive appearance price anyway.
But now that she’s getting divorced and the “Basketball Wives” franchise is one of the most popular at VH1, they now have the budget to afford Vanessa and they believe she would add a dynamic personality to the L.A. cast.
“Vanessa has more than enough story line and would bring the show to another level,” said a source.
If she does join the cast, sources say that Vanessa would immediately be made a lead of the L.A. version of the show.
We’ll have to wait and see if Vanessa decides to join the show. But in the meantime, check out our list of other famous wives and girlfriends we’re sure the producers would love to snag an (presumably more star-studded) edition of “Basketball Wives.” –nicholas robinson
