Details Emerge in Demi Moore Hospitalization

After news surfaced earlier this week that actress Demi Moore had been hospitalized and sent to rehab, many news outlets were divided on the cause of Moore’s recent health crisis, with some reporting that she was hospitalized due to exhaustion, while others reporting she was hospitalized due to drug abuse. Now, new details have reportedly emerged about Moore’s hospitalization, with claims that it was indeed drugs that caused her medical emergency.

According to TMZ, a friend who was at Moore’s home at the time of the incident, informed paramedic’s that Moore had been doing whip its — a street name for the practice of inhaling nitrous oxide from aerosol cans — and afterwards, fell into semi-consciousness and exhibited seizure-like symptoms.

People magazine also shared more details about the incident, reported that sources close to Moore shared with them that they’ve been worried about her mental and physical health for a year now, citing her recent divorce from Ashton Kutcher, who allegedly cheated on her numerous times, as the source of Moore’s extreme stress.

“Really, it was over the last year her friends saw a change, She wasn’t sleeping as well, didn’t seem to be eating and looked really gaunt,” said the source, referencing recent photos of the star looking alarmingly thin and somber.

Sources close to Kutcher and Moore also claim that Moore suffers from an addiction to prescription drugs, which contributed to her divorce.

“It was a sticking point for Ashton,” the source said. “He wanted her to take care of herself and get a hold of things, and she wouldn’t.”

Despite the scare, another source claims that Moore’s health crisis may be a blessing in disguise for the actress.

“Demi has had too much pride to come clean about her issues,” said the source. “She wouldn’t allow people to talk to her about them.”

This won’t be the first time Moore has been to a rehab center. Back in the ’80s, Moore went a drug and alcohol rehab center after director Joel Schumacher advised her to seek professional help before she began shooting their film, St. Elmo’s Fire. If drugs are indeed the culprit for Moore’s current health crisis, hopefully she’ll get the help she needs and find the strength to deal with her addictions like the six other artists below.
