Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle Tour in the Works?

Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle Tour in the Works?

Besides being heralded as one of the best albums of the past year, Jay-Z and Kanye West’s collaboration album, Watch The Throne, has inspired scores of fans to say, “cray,” fashion’s elite to jump on the hip-hop bandwagon and a number of artists to consider collaboration albums. But apparently, Watch The Throne’s influence goes far beyond music and fashion. According to comedian Chris Rock, he was so inspired by Watch The Throne, that he wants to go on tour with fellow comedy titan Dave Chappelle.

“I’ve been talking to Chappelle a lot,” Rock told New York magazine’s Vulture at the Sundance Film Festival. “[I’ve] been trying to get Chappelle to go on tour.”

However, Rock may find it hard to get Chappelle to come out of his reclusive ways. Since the demise of his famous Comedy Central series, “Chappelle’s Show,” in 2004, Chappelle has remained out of the public spotlight, choosing only to do low-profile stand-up gigs around the country and most recently giving a rare radio interview in San Francisco in August.

But despite the hard sell, Rock maintains that he’s intent on seeing a joint tour happen.

“You know I’m not the hard one,” Rock joked. “I’m trying to make that happen. After seeing Kanye and Jay-Z, I was like, ‘Me and Dave should do this.’”

If Rock does make it happen, fans across the nation would undoubtedly pay big bucks to see these two comic dynamos hit the stage together. And just like Rock and Chappelle, below are some other great comedic duos who’ve lit up the stage, TV’s and the big screen with the comedic might.
