President Barack Obama will attend a few fundraisers in Atlanta on Friday, March 16, 2012. The biggest buzz is centered on the star-studded fête at Tyler Perry Studios, where at least 1,000 Obama supporters are expected.
President Obama campaign s African American Leadership Council is hosting the gala featuring a performance by “The Voice” judge, Atlanta s own Cee Lo Green. General admission tickets are $500. VIP tickets range from $2,500 to $10,000, which includes a picture with the President.
A dinner and toast later at entertainment mogul Tyler Perry s posh home will raise $35,800 per guest; at least 60 people are expected. Another will be held at a location that remains private.
The money will be split between the Obama Victory Fund and the Democratic National Committee. The first $5,000 of an individual s contribution goes to the president s fund while the remainder – up to $30,800 – goes to the DNC. The Atlanta visit marks 40 total fundraisers attended for the year and 107 his total for the cycle.
