After years plagued by injuries and scandal, Tiger Woods pulled away from his competition March 25 to capture his first PGA Tour win since September 2009.
“It does feel good. It feels really good. It’s been a lot of hard work,” Woods said, “I’m so thankful for all of the people helping me out along the way. You know who you are. Today was unbelievable. … It was incredible to have that type of support here.”
Woods closed with a 2-under-par 70 for a five-shot win over Graeme McDowell, the runner-up.
“I think he really just kind of nailed home his comeback,” McDowell said. “Great to have a front-row seat watching maybe the greatest of all time doing what he does best — winning golf tournaments.”
It seems like not too long ago when people were skeptical of whether he could still play, now the question is if he can return to the Tiger that once dominated the sport of golf like no man has before.
I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
