Steve Harvey’s romantic comedy film, Think Like a Man, hit theaters this past weekend and according to box-office numbers, fans showed up in droves to see the film, helping it to soar all the way to the No. 1 spot.
Think Like a Man surpassed its opening weekend sales expectations and took home a total of $33 million over the weekend, dethroning the uber-hit The Hunger Games, which stayed atop box-office sales for the past four weeks.
The film, which is based on Harvey’s bestselling advice book, Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, was produced for just $13 million by Sony-owned Screen Gems, but experts attribute the film’s success to it’s aggressive and successful marketing to African American audiences.
We congratulate Harvey and the cast, which includes Taraji P. Henson, Kevin Hart and recent rolling out cover, Micheal Ealy, on the film’s success. Check out more hit romantic comedies below. –nicholas robinson
