Phylicia Rashad is regal personified. And she injected that class and sophistication into her Clair Huxtable character that could not have been done by anyone else. Her portfolio of performances, post-“the Cosby Show”, illustrates the range of this immensely talented diva. Whether is was on television sitcoms with “Cosby”, or the hit TV movie, “A Raisin in the Sun,” or providing depth, balance and wry wit to the Tyler Perry drama For Colored Girls and Good Deeds, or providing award-winning performances on stage in “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Rashad is as versatile a black actress as we have ever seen. Can’t wait to check her and others out as they put together Steel Magnolias remake.
