'Black Dynamite' Spoofs Michael Jackson: Twitter Reacts

When the movie Black Dynamite premiered at Sundance in 2009, Spike Lee and other prominent black filmmakers believed the film could usher in a new era for blacks on the big screen. The film, which was a parody of the blaxploitation era, opened to good reviews, but it only received a two-week theatrical release nationwide.

However, through great DVD sales, the film became a cult classic. Cartoon Network noticed its influence and decided to reintroduce the film as a cartoon on Adult Swim.

Voiced by Michael Jai White (Black Dynamite), Tommy Davidson (Cream Corn), and Kym Whitley (Honey Bee), “Black Dynamite” premiered on July 15. In the episode, Black Dynamite and his team attempts to save Cream Corn from being abused by “Little” Michael Jackson of the Jackson 5.
