Mayte Goes to a Fertility Clinic
Mayte, who has already suffered the loss of two kids, ventures to a fertility clinic to speak a doctor about freezing her eggs. And though she goes in hopeful, the doctor explains that because she’s 38, the egg freezing/pregnancy success rate for her (and all women over 35) is only about 40-50%. The invasiveness of the surgery and the drug routine also seem daunting to Mayte and she leaves the doctor’s office feeling hopeless about her chances of getting pregnant.
