Usher and Tameka Custody Case Coming to a Close
The ongoing custody battle between Usher nd his ex-wife is quickly coming to an end. Usher, 33, appeared in court today to face off with Tameka Raymond once again and to ask a judge to grant him sole custody of his sons. Usher and Tameka have two children together, 4-year-old Usher Raymond V, and 3-year-old Naviyd. During today’s hearing in a Fulton County courtroom, FOX 5 reports that Usher’s attorneys accused his ex-wife of being neglectful and incapable of being a proper parent.
“We believe the evidence is that Ms. Raymond is incapable of being a proper parent to these children. That she does not have the emotional stability or capacity to bond with them, and therefore she is handicapped,” said an attorney representing Usher.
By contrast Tameka’s attorney, turned the incapable parent claims on the singer and noted that his “village people” consisting of his mother, grandmother and aunt won’t be able to properly help him raise his sons. “Mr. Raymond does not have a good relationship with his mother. You heard her testimony yesterday about how Mr. Raymond rammed his car three times into Ms. Patton’s [his mother’s] car.”
Before today’s court appearance Tameka found herself splashed across headlines after her 11-year-old son passed away in a boating accident. Tameka later claimed that the singer was feigning sympathy over the boy’s death. She previously accused the singer of having a drug addiction and claimed that he slept with two of her bridesmaids. Usher would later accuse Tameka of hitting him before spitting on his new girlfriend.
