Supermodel Naomi Campbell is not going to allow rival Tyra Banks to one-up her. Campbell, along with Karolina Kurkova and Coco Rocha, will find and develop up-and-coming runway talent for “The Face,” a new Oxygen network reality show.
Each supermodel coach will scout for their teams by recruiting aspiring young models from all over the world. They will guide them through casting calls, runway shows, photo shoots and commercials.
The fresh-faced aspirants will be blessed with both worlds: firsthand mentoring from world-renowned models and a chance to work with the best photographers, stylists and designers in the industry. It’s also been reported that designers Marc Jacobs and Zac Posen will be involved with the show.
Only one girl will be chosen to become “the face” of a national brand and earn a contract as a brand ambassador – a spokesperson who will represent the company in print, on-air and at events.
Renowned fashion photographer Nigel Barker, a former judge from Banks’ “America’s Next Top Model,” will host the show, which is schedule for a 2013 premiere on Oxygen. –yvette caslin
