What’s your fondest Chicago memory?
I’m pretty fond of all of them. I always have a good time out here. I guess this would be my fondest memory. I’m not just out here to perform, [it’s] for an honorable cause and I’m honored to be a part of it.
What’s the best advice you can offer to future artists?
… I heard something Frankie Beverly said on the BET Awards not too long ago, “Make the music that you want to make no matter what anybody says.” I would pass that on to you.
