It didn’t take long for the fireworks to start popping on “Love and Hip Hop” reunion, cable’s highest-rated reality show. Right off the jump, profanities, vulgarities and insults were flying back and forth in both directions like a live battlefield as the principle characters quickly sized each other up and then went in for the veritable kill:

Producer Mona Scott Young posed the question to the entire cast to discuss the idea that cable’s most popular reality show portrays black women in a negative, stereotypical manner.
“It had nothing to do with you or VH1 or a script. So for them to say ‘you were portraying African American women in a negative light’…not so much,” answered Mimi, the long-time girlfriend of lightning rod Stevie J.
Before “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” reunion began, Young put Joseline Hernandez on blast for flossing stunner shades during the early introductions. When Joseline was posted up about trying to get extra shine during the intros, Stevie J’s protege used the opportunity to boast and show off her body.
