Underwood always knew that she wanted to start her own line. “I basically had this whole idea to create style-driven pieces that can stand out, while fitting in at the same time,” Underwood explains. So, she had the idea for a line, but she needed a name. The name is often what gives a clothing line its personality. Underwood decided to use her middle name Wanda, added Grace, and a clothing line was born.

Wanda Grace is a reflection of Underwood’s lifestyle. The brand is constantly evolving to fit the Wanda Grace customer. “I am my customer, so I basically revolve my brand around what I am doing,” says Underwood.

Who is the Wanda Grace woman you ask?

“She’s growing up, she’s going to grad school, she’s going to her best friend’s wedding, she’s doing a little more than going to the club,” says Underwood.

The Wanda Grace woman is all about business, but also wants pieces she can work with. She wants to be able to wear her work outfit to a night out with her friends or on a date.

Even though Underwood is ready for the growth of Wanda Grace, she wants to be known for more than fashion. “I have a message with my brand. I’m a very positive person. I’m into woman empowerment, girl empowerment. I just don’t want to make clothes and sell clothes; I want to give a message, because I want to make my mark. I want people to know me for more than just fashion,” Underwood says.

So ladies, remember to be a lady, cross your legs, be sociable, create goals, and wear Wanda Grace.
