If there’s any reality TV star that knows about controversy it’s “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star NeNe Leakes. The “RHOA” fire starter has endured everything from a nasty public divorce to high-profile fallouts with friends. And now, Leakes is ready to share some hard-earned wisdom about controversy with reality TV’s latest lightning rod of drama, Evelyn Lozada.
In an interview with Essence, Leakes discussed Lozada’s current domestic dispute scandal, involving her soon-to-be ex-husband, Chad Johnson, who head butted her during a heated argument.
And according to Leakes, she only has one bit of advice for Loazada – stay quiet.
“The only advice I would have for Evelyn is to be quiet,” NeNe said in a recent interview. “I wouldn’t say anything else. To me, it makes matters worse and I would be quiet and try to it handle privately.”
Leakes, who suffered an abusive relationship of her own, hasn’t spoken to Lozada about her abuse, but shared that she wasn’t sure if it’s the right time to bring up Loazada’s scandal.
“I wanted to reach out to her, but I didn’t,” said the Bravo housewife. “I feel like when people are going through something I’m confused about whether I should say something or not, because so many people are saying stuff to them.”
But despite her uncertainty, and the fact that she and Lozada aren’t really close, Leakes explained that she will help Lozada in any way she can if she needs her.
“I don’t talk to Evelyn regularly, but I do know her. We do text if we need something from one another,” said Leakes.
