How do you describe your business?
The Tallulah Group at its core is a media and PR firm. I write for my client – speeches, scripts, marketing materials, and letters – you name it and I write it. Another core competence is the ability to network my clients to people they may not know but need to know. I call it positioning, but the key is to link clients with the right people.
As an entrepreneur, who are your main supporters?
Other entrepreneurs are my best supporters. I’m a sole proprietor so some of my projects come from other business owners who need a hand. It’s a very collaborative world entrepreneurs live in and if you aren’t focused on helping others you aren’t doing your job.
What is the best business advice that you’ve received recently?
Don’t undercharge for your services. Something I can’t say I always do. What you’ll find is that you probably work a lot more hours than you contract for, so if you do not charge appropriately at the outset you’ll certainly not catch up at the end. Seldom do you get bonuses from a client when a job goes well, no matter how many hours you’ve put in. Charge accordingly.
