Dr. William R. Harvey is president of Hampton University and 100 percent owner of the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company of Houghton, Mich. Since 1978, he has served with distinction at Hampton and created a monumental legacy during his 30-year tenure. It’s one of the longest tenures of any sitting president of a college or university in the country. Harvey is a graduate of Talladega College. He served three years on active duty with the U.S. Army and is currently a Lt. Colonel in the Army Reserve. Harvey earned his doctorate in college administration from Harvard University in 1972.
