The New York Fire Department, among the first responders after Hurricane Sandy barreled through the East Coast, documented the hurricane’s wrath and the wasteland she left behind.
The images are unforgettable, but the last photo bears witness that hope lives on, through rain, snow, flood waters and even fire.
