Romney’s FEMA Remarks
Romney once said that he would cut back on FEMA and mandate that natural disasters are handled by states and the private sector. But after Sandy’s destruction, it became evident that FEMA is truly needed. In September, Obama signed a bill that provided $8 billion in funding to FEMA. Governor Christie of New Jersey, a staunch Republican, praised Obama’s efforts in response to the storm.
