Lindsay Lohan has been charged with lying to law enforcement about her car crash on Pacific Coast Highway over the summer, the media has learned.
This past June, Lohan told authorities that she was not behind the wheel of her Porsche when slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer, when multiple witness say otherwise. The case will be filed as a misdemeanor by the Santa Monica (Calif.) city attorney this week.
This is not good news for Lindsay. She is still on probation for that infamous jewelry heist, tmz.com says, and the criminal filing could trigger a probation violation, and she could be sent to jail to serve out her time.
The police reported that prescription pills in her purse after the crash. Witnesses tell us pills were also scattered in her trunk. Authorities were going to charge the troubled actress with drug crimes, but Lindsay’s lawyer, Shawn Holley, swooped in on the rescue and provided paperwork proving that Lindsay pills were properly prescribed.
Too bad Holley wasn’t quick enough to get to the hospital to put a muzzle on Lohan’s lying mouth. It was at the hospital that the actress told the police that she was not behind the wheel. Holley tried to get there before Lohan opened her mouth but but she was a few minutes too late, the entertainment blog reports
