5 more states want to secede from the US

Not since President Abraham Lincoln have there been so many calls from citizens to secede from the Union as there have been since President Obama won reelection.

This pathetic scenario really comes down something tantamount kids wailing in the night because things didn’t go their way as the request for secession is pretty much an exercise in futility.


According to newsone.com, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia clarified the issue of secession from the Union:

If there was any constitutional issue resolved by the Civil War, it is that there is no right to secede. (Hence, in the Pledge of Allegiance, “one Nation, indivisible.”) Secondly, I find it difficult to envision who the parties to this lawsuit might be. Is the State suing the United States for a declaratory judgment? But the United States cannot be sued without its consent, and it has not consented to this sort of suit.

As of today, five more states have petitioned the U.S. government for permission to break off from the country and form its own government.
