Bobbi Kristina making singing debut on 'The Houstons' tonight (watch preview)

When it comes to Bobbi Kristina, there’s little that the world doesn’t know about her life, including her controversial engagement to Nick Gordon, her struggles with drugs and alcohol, the death of her mother, Whitney Houston, and her revealing reality show, “The Houstons: On Our Own.” But, one thing fans have been dying to know about the rising progeny of one of music’s biggest legends is, “can she sing, like her mother?” Well, fans will finally get an answer to the burning question tonight on “The Houstons.”

In a new episode teaser, Bobbi meets up with her mother’s old vocal coach and music director, Ricky Minor, to discuss her venture into the world of music.

“He did my mom’s ‘Star Spangled Banner’ Super Bowl version, of course, and he did ‘American Idol,’” explains Bobbi. “To say the least, he’s huge. At this point, I wasn’t sure if I was in the mood for meeting or anything, but I know this is an opportunity that my mother would love for me to take. I’m gonna take it and I’m gonna run with it.”

However, Bobbi is already aware of the comparisons she will endure when it comes to her parents’ legacies.

“Of course I’m going to be compared to my mother,” Bobbi says. “Being her daughter is a huge blessing, but also a curse at times.”

However, despite her interest in carrying the musical torch for mother and her father, Bobby Brown, Bobbi explains that she’s unsure of what kind of music she wants to make.

“I have a really versatile voice, so I don’t really know yet what genre I’m going to be in,” Bobbi says.

And when Minor urges Bobbi to show off her versatile singing chops, she crumbles in fear of the idea of singing for him. But, thankfully, she eventually obliges him.

According to MTV News, the song Bobbi will sing for minor is one of her mother’s classics, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.”
