LeBron Ramone James born and bred in Akron, Ohio, a Midwestern working-class town 30 minutes south of Cleveland. He is the lone son of Gloria James, also an Akron native. Interestingly enough, James’ hometown is sandwiched about halfway between Cleveland and Canton on a stretch of interstate 77 in Northeast Ohio nicknamed “Hall of Fame Highway” (Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland; Football Hall of Fame in Canton; and Inventors Hall of Fame in Akron). It seems almost destined that James will be a member of the Hall of Fame upon retirement from the NBA.
