Some celebrity hookups were bad ideas from the start, (Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian) and yet, we were mesmerized. We watched the fantastic uncoupling, akin to a train wreck in slow motion, and we savored every sordid detail.
But now the fascination is over, and we really, truly, just want the former couple to pick up the pieces and move on. There is no good reason why, after their 72-day marriage, Kardashian should be forced to bring her boyfriend (Kanye West) into a deposition so that she can divorce Kris Humphries.
Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise
On the opposite end of the spectrum was the fantastic “runaway slave” divorce that Katie Holmes and her family pulled off. It seemed at times, that Tom Cruise’s camp was the last to know that the divorce had actually happened. Holmes had served divorce papers and had a new apartment across the country with Suri in what was believed to be a Mission Impossible-style uncoupling. Now that’s a Hollywood breakup!
