Photos of Adam Lanza and his family
Photos of Adam Lanza, the deeply disturbed 20-year-old who gunned down 26 people in the worst elementary school shooting in U.S. history, have been released. As previously reported Lanza may have been autistic and suffering from Asperger’s syndrome or another personality disorder. Described as a “deeply disturbed kid” Lanza was a part of the Tech club in high school and walked the halls carrying a black briefcase. Before that a childhood classmate described his odd behavior when he was a young student at the same elementary school where he went on a rampage. Rebecca Jaroszewski, who was in the same first- and third-grade classes with Lanza at Sandy Hook Elementary, says she can recall Lanza standing alone at recess, straining himself to make his face turn red and making sounds like an animal on several occasions.”He would seem really angry, but he wouldn’t tell people why,” she told the Hartford Courant. “It clicked for me when I realized who it was.” Several people would contend that Lanza was a “loner” and media noted that he did not have a Twitter of Facebook page. Instead Lanza busied himself by playing video games which police have described as violent in nature, at the $700,000 home he lived in with his mother.
On Friday, Dec. 14, Lanza carried out a massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary school where his mother Nancy Lanza previously worked. Nancy reportedly left her job to care for and home school Adam full time. She was found in her household bedroom with two gunshot wounds to the head. After murdering his mother Lanza killed 26 people, 20 children and six adults within 10 minutes. All of his victims big and small were shot multiple times. He had three murder weapons with him at the time; a .223-caliber Bushmaster rifle and two pistols, a Glock and a Sig Saue. All of them were registered to his mother who friends say kept them hidden away from Adam, but had them for protection and to add to her growing gun collection.
Take a look for yourself at the man who committed this heinous crime as we all still struggle to understand who Adam Lanza really was. -danielle canada
