Of course, A$AP Rocky sound would probably make you think that he was born in Houston or New Orleans. But he is a Harlem native and stands as New York’s best hope for a comeback. The city that birthed hip-hop is basically off the hip-hop map today, save for Jay-Z and Nas. Unlike Mims, who had a short buzz a few years ago, A$AP Rocky has what it takes to make fans love New York rap again.
