2 Chainz arrested for marijuana in Maryland

Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz was arrested Thursday on suspicion of drug possession in Maryland, where he was set to perform at an event later in the evening at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

The 35-year-old, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, faces up to a year in jail and up to a $1,000 fine. The vehicle he was in was pulled over for allegedly going 79 in a 55 mph zone in Maryland. Once pulled over, cops reportedly smelled marijuana in the van. Police found marijuana paraphernalia and traces of the drug in a backpack Epps claimed to belong to him. He was then arrested.

The Grammy Award nominee posted a photo of himself accompanied by two cops posing for the snapshot after the alleged incident on his Instagram page.

“Locked me up and then Wanted pictures smh,” he wrote, adding, “We go to jail for a grinder??? REALLY???”
