Who’s guarding the legacy?

Since the dissolution of Nirvana, the surviving members have been embroiled in a battle with Cobain’s widow, Courtney Love, over releases and documentaries covering their body of work. One new song has emerged (“You Know You’re Right”) and a Greatest Hits album. 2Pac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, has spearheaded the release of a seemingly-endless stream of posthumous 2Pac albums, with fairly diminishing returns. And she recently promised that more are on the way.
