Akon accused of crippling a man

Singer-producer Akon is being sued by a concert worker who says he was physically disabled by the star.

Matthew Graham has filed a suit against Akon alleging that a reckless stage dive at the BayFest music festival in Alabama in 2009 caused permanent injury. Saying that Akon “negligently or wantonly leaped into the overcrowded mass of concertgoers,” Graham allegedly sustained severe injuries to his back, head, knee and body after the dive.

In his suit, the extent of his disability isn’t fully specified, however.

According to TMZ, Graham is suing Akon for medical expenses, physical and mental anguish and lost wages. The amount hasn’t been disclosed to the public. He’s also suing organizers, BayFest Inc.

The chart-topping singer has collaborated with fellow stars like Gwen Stefani and Whitney Houston, and stars such as Lady Gaga and T-Pain have been featured on his Konvict Musik and Kon Live labels. However, Akon has had more than his fair share of controversy over the years.
