In 2010, Fantasia explained that she felt that the media snubbed her and consistently portrayed her in a negative light due to her dark skin and full features. “One day I was like, ‘that’s OK,’ but I had to get to that point. I am a dark-skinned, full-lipped sister and it’s all right.”
