Kelly Rowland reveals struggle accepting her dark skin

During her early years in the industry, dark-skinned rapper Foxy Brown found it difficult to embrace and display her Afro-Trinidadian and Asian heritage on camera and was often covered in makeup to make her skin appear lighter. However, by the time she released her third album, Broken Silence, in 2001, Foxy was proudly rapping about her dark skin tone and had stopped hiding her complexion.
